Meet Kubos, our resident big fluffy boy at O'Blako Samoyeds! He really lives up to the essence of our kennel name: O'Blako means "white cloud" in Russian, and Kubos really is just a puffy white cloud! Thanks to his Russian lineage he carries a huge, thick white coat of fur of the correct harsh and standoff texture as called for in the breed standard, fit to withstand the most brutal of Russian winters. He has a strong, masculine head with ample fill and bone to create that desirable smooth tapering wedge shape, highlighted with beautiful dark almond-shaped obliquely set eyes and medium-sized erect triangular well-furred ears with slightly rounded tips, set well apart within the edges of an appropriately wide backskull. And don't forget that jet-black pigment as the cherry on top, accentuating his gorgeous facial features and bringing them all together to create a perfectly pleasing portrait of harmony!
But he's not just stunningly beautiful, he's sound too---and it's reflected in his excellent movement. He has a smooth, well-coordinated, ground-covering side gait with plenty of reach and powerful drive, equally balanced in front and rear. In addition, his temperament is simply perfect! He's so sweet, friendly, affectionate, gentle, lovable, and he gets along well with everyone, humans and dogs alike. He's the ideal family dog and companion.
Kubos is the total package, and even better, he's an amazing producer and stud dog, with his offspring also carrying the traits that make him such a wonderful specimen of the Samoyed breed. Kubos kids have certainly made their mark on this breed, with several winning great honors in the show ring like big specialty majors and group placements, and one, Tazi, has even ascended all the way to the top of the leaderboard, winning the coveted all-breed Best in Show award five times so far, Reserve Best in Show 5 times, and reaching #1 Samoyed in the all-breed points ranking in 2023 and 2024, as well as earning the American Grand Champion Platinum title, one of only 14 Samoyeds in history to do so.
